Sophie Muja, z. Ilir Canhasi dhe mezzosopranen znj. Besa Berberi. Një film dokumentar i shkurtër historik për arbëreshët tek “Hora e Arbëreshëvet” në Rajonin e Palermos, Sicili, në Itali. Filmi është 30 min. i gjatë, i titruar në anglisht dhe i realizuar në prill të vitit 2023 gjatë festës se Pashkëve në Hora e Arbëreshëvet. Këtu do të keni mundesi të shohim edhe veshjet e bukura arbëreshe që i bartin gratë arbëreshe për festa të veçanta.
Ky film dokumentar ilustron historinë e madhërishme të kolonive shqiptare në Sicili të Italisë nga ikja nga Arbëria deri tek ditët e sotme. 24 km larg Palermos ne ishullin e Sicilisë, ne një lartësi mbidetare prej 720 metrash dhe e rrethuar me bjeshkë të larta, gjejmë një qendër civlizimi të lashtë, ku jeton nje popull shumë i veçant antik.
Ky popull quhet arbëresh dhe edhe pas 535 vitesh vazhdon të përdor gjuhën antike arbëreshe në familje, kur fëmijet luajnë mes vete dhe kur pagëzohen ne kishën e tyre sipas ritit bizantin. Ky qytet unik quhet ”Hora e Arbëreshëvet” dhe konsiderohet kryeqyteti i arbëreshëve të Sicilisë. Këtu ndodhet edhe selia e Peshkopit të Kishës Bizantine Italo-Shqiptare, ”Eparkia e Horës së Arbëreshëvet”. Gjuha shqipe/arbëreshe është ruajtur për 535 vjet në qytetet e populluara nga arbëreshët.
Messina dhe Palermo jan qytetet me komunitetet më të mëdha urbane shqiptare në Sicili. Qytetet siciliane me arbëreshë janë Piana degli Albanesi, Santa Cristina Gela, Mezzojuso, Contessa Entellina, Palazzo Adriano.

A short historical documentary film about the Arbëreshes at “Hora e Arbëreshevet” in the Region of Palermo, Sicily in Italy. The movie is 30 min long and subtitled in English! The film was made in April 2023 during the Easter holiday in Hora e Arbëreshëvet and we will also have the opportunity to see the beautiful Arbëresh clothes worn by Arbëresh women for special holidays!
This documentary film illustrates the magnificent history of the Albanian colonies in Sicily, Italy, from the escape from Arberia to the present day. 24 km from Palermo on the island of Sicily, at an altitude of 720 meters above sea level and surrounded by high mountains, we find an ancient civilization center, in this place lives a very special ancient people.
This people is called Arbëresh and even after 535 years they continue to use the ancient Arbëresh language in the family, when the children play among themselves and when they are baptized in their church according to their Byzantine rite.
This unique city is called “Hora e Arbëreshëvet” and is considered the capital of Arbëresh in Sicily. Here is also the seat of the Bishop of the Italo-Albanian Byzantine Church, “Eparchy of Hora e Arbëreshëvet”.
The Albanian/Arbëresh language has been preserved for 535 years in the cities populated by Arbëresh. Messina and Palermo are the cities with the largest urban Albanian communities in Sicily.
Sicilian cities with arberesh are Piana degli Albanesi, Santa Cristina Gela, Mezzojuso, Contessa Entellina, Palazzo Adriano.

Il film è stato girato nell’aprile 2023 durante le festa di Pasqua a Hora e Arbëreshëvet e avremo anche l’opportunità di vedere i bellissimi abiti arbëresh indossati dalle donne arbëresh per festività speciali! Questo film documentario illustra la magnifica storia delle colonie albanesi in Sicilia, Italia, dalla fuga dall’Arberia ai giorni nostri.
A 24 km da Palermo, nell’isola di Sicilia, ad un’altitudine di 720 metri sul livello del mare e circondato da alte montagne, troviamo un antico centro di civiltà, in questo luogo vive un popolo antico molto speciale. Questo popolo si chiama Arbëresh e anche dopo 535 anni continua ad usare l’antica lingua arbëresh in famiglia, quando i bambini giocano tra loro e quando vengono battezzati nella loro chiesa secondo il rito bizantino.
Questa città unica si chiama “Hora e Arbëreshëvet” ed è considerata la capitale dell’Arbëreshëvet in Sicilia. Qui è anche la sede vescovile della Chiesa bizantina italo-albanese, “Eparchia di Hora e Arbëreshëvet”. La lingua albanese/arbëresh è conservata da 535 anni nelle città popolate da arbëresh.
Messina e Palermo sono le città con le più grandi comunità urbane albanesi in Sicilia.
Le città siciliane con gli alberi sono Piana degli Albanesi, Santa Cristina Gela, Mezzojuso, Contessa Entellina, Palazzo Adriano.
